How Many Times Can You Start Over?

How many times can you start over?  How many times can you make the same promises to yourself that you have broken before?  How many times can you say “This time will be different”?

How many times can you let yourself down, be embarrassed, angry with yourself?

How many times can you promise to do better, make a new start, do things differently this time?

My answer is: as many times as it takes.

I have let myself down and gained weight again, but I know this: I have had my heaviest day.  It is now.  I will not gain anymore.

Anyone who has lost weight knows there are people who are delighted to watch you gain weight back.  To those people, I extend my deepest apologies ahead of time for the agony they are about to experience, because I will not gain one more ounce; I will not miss one more workout; I will not budge one more inch down the wrong direction.   I will not allow the poison of emotionally diseased people to bring me down too.

Today is a new day, another new start, and my head is high because despite falls and trips and wipe-outs, I know I have what it takes to do this, finish this, and remind myself what I am made of.

Its reunion day or something :) Just saying to someone else that there have been a couple people on my mind and you were also one of them. Im sorry you have been struggling. I…am at the very same place as you…how many times??? Youre right, as many as it takes! Im not giving up even tho part of me is fighting for that to happen…I will not!
You are an amazing, inspiring woman, and I know you will do this! And its good you are stopping it now and not further down the road. Ive done 3 months of damage and playing the . “I’ll start tomorrow” game.
So MJ baby…Im with you! HUGS! :)

Thanks so much! I agree, even if you are starting over for the millionth time, start over NOW and not tomorrow when there is even more damage done!

MJ! Hold your head up sweetheart! While losing weight is tough, MAINTAINING is even MORE difficult—GREAT job on catching yourself and turning things around! And I agree, there is NO limit on how many times we can fall down and get back up—this is LIFE and we will all have our ups and downs. Have a great day and week MJ :)

Hey MJ… Loved your blog today. You sound so fired up. I have people in my life who just love to see me gain weight and talk about it behind my back… I got really sick of it, and now I love going home after I’ve lost a few pounds to rub it in their faces a bit… its a bit childish I know, but it makes me feel good!

Thats right girl–you do it as many times as it takes. We might slip and fall but damn if we are gonna stay down in that mud.
As for the people that say that you cant do it–and that you will gain it back–from me to them–kiss my butt. They have no right to push the opinion on you. I have had a couple of peope say just that to me–that I dont stand a chance of not gaining this weight back. That gets my back up—and they can just watch me–cause I will prove them wrong and take absolute joy in it. I know you will be right there with me too. So, when you feel like slipping you remember–you are not only working on this for you but for those that you can say–ha, watch me as I prove you wrong. You can do this girl!! Lets do it.

people just like to see you fail because they cant handle watching you succeed and bear the pain that they put on themselves by not pursueing their own goals. If you fail, then thats like oh see i knew i would fail too.
it excuses all of their behaviors!!!
    its kind of pathetic.

((((MJ))))) It is so true! So many people would be happy to see successful losers like you and me gain weight and like me not lose weight.

But you are right! You can do as many “do overs” as you need!!!!!!

I’m glad you blogged this! Now let’s go out there and do it!

Start as many times as you need to! As long as you keep that winning attitude of yours, you will always be successful! Kudos to you!
