So Proud of Me :)

So far, so good!  Yesterday I dusted off my food diary and started planning my meals again, and after work I sweat like a pig to Jillian Michaels’ Boost Your Metabolism workout on Exercise TV.  (I highly recommend this one, by the way.)

This morning I got up a little earlier to do my abs and then a quick, 10-minute kickboxing workout before I headed off to work.  That is a huge accomplishment for me; I’m the queen of hitting snooze and cuddling back up with Gary until it’s too late to work out.

But I’m most proud of myself because this morning, I had to run out and pick up some things for a meeting at work.  While I was out, it automatically crossed my mind to stop and grab a Coke and a snack (preferably of the chocolate-and-peanut variety).  I reminded myself that each decision I make either reinforces or undermines my goals.  I made a decision to reinforce my goals, and I am back here at work WITHOUT a soda and without an unhealthy snack!

They seem like little things, but for me, they are symbolic of a change in my mindset, a shift to consistency and realizing (again) that it’s the collection of relatively small decisions each day that add up to either amazing or mediocre results.

I for one am tired of spinning of my wheels and am tired of mediocre.  I’m ready for the compliments, ready for Gary to hug me and tell me how proud he is, ready for people to ask me again “How do you do it?”, ready to be proud again of how I feel and how I look.

I want to push myself and drive fast and hard from now on, every day, not just when the mood strikes.  As Billy Blanks says, “You gotta give some to get some,” and that is just what I intend to do!

Im proud of you too! That is where we mess up, the mindless grabbing of snacks or soda’s and you beat it. I love my food diary. I keep a little notebook on my desk in the kitchen that I put everything in and I also keep the jounal on BS.

Yay for working out in the early morning. Doesn’t that make your whole day better! You are almost there I see girl! You are an inspiration for me. Seeing examples of people that are accomplishing their goals is such a boost!

Thank you so much! I am itching for a Coke but being proud of myself feels so much better than drinking a soda will.

I think it’s pretty new, Kama. I’ve seen it on DVD but it only recently was available on Exercise TV. It’s my favorite one of hers, all serious cardio!
