My Partner in Crime

I got home really late last night from work and running errands, and I hit the door making excuses for why I couldn’t work out, why I should just put on snuggly pajamas and relax, how I was just too tired for a workout…and then opened the door to Gary leaping and lunging around the living room, huffing and puffing, finishing up a workout DVD!  When he saw how unmotivated I was, he told me he would work out with me if that is what it would take for me to take care of myself.

So, after an hour-long plyometrics workout, Gary kickboxed beside me and did push-ups :)  I was so proud of him, and also bursting with happiness that he was willing to do that for me, to push me and join me after he had already worked out, just to make sure that I did too.

I did 50 push-ups, some full-length and some on my knees, and plan to add on to that each day.  Gary was beside me saying things like “You did that first 20 so easy, you shouldn’t have any problem doing at least 30″, and so on.  It’s hard not to keep going with him being so encouraging and positive! He measured my bicep yesterday to revise the tattoo design he is drawing for me.  I want it on my arm, and he has a rough draft that I love, that needs to be scaled down now to fit onto my arm.  After he measured my arm, he said, “Well, I’m going to take off one inch, so the tattoo is the right size after you lose more weight.”

So, more motivation: getting ripped biceps for my tattoo, which is going to be my reward for reaching 130 pounds; and letting him know that his support is so appreciated that I won’t waste time anymore doing this half-heartedly.  I know I wouldn’t have worked out last night if he wouldn’t have pushed me.  I want to show him, and myself, that I still have the fight in me, and that I can and will do this!

I have a panther on one arm, near my shoulder, and I want a butterfly on my other arm. I want a butterfly for the symbolism of change and becoming something better. I don’t have the tattoo done yet but will definitely post a picture when I do!

It’s particularly special to me because Gary drew it! Once the design is scaled down, we’re going to see if it’s possible to hide words in the wings…things we know are there but won’t be noticable to anyone just looking at it.

That is awesome hun! And so sweet of him to be right there encouraging you to work out even when you really didn’t want to! Keep that man around. Haha. Congrats on the 50 push-ups that is awesome. Keep at it!

As for your body type where you gain weight in your arms and stomach I think that goes along with the apple shape. I’ll read more up on that and post that this weekend so you can get some ideas.

Keep up the awesome work! I know you can do it.

Your Gary must be a very special man. Don’t have a lot of caring men running around these days anymore ;) I always thought I have one of those special breeds, but there seems be an even better one ;)
Love that idea with the butterfly. Can’t wait to see a picture. :D

What a special relationship y’all have! :D And may I say that a well-positioned tattoo looks FABULOUS on a ripped bicep? :D You are gonna ROCK that tat girl!! I *love* the symbolism of the butterfly, too.
