7 Miles! Yessssss!

It was chilly this morning, and I questioned my sanity as I dressed to go running, a long sleeve top, long pants, and a jacket and gloves, and the first few minutes I was wondering what the heck I was doing, freezing my face off just to get a few miles in.  Then I hit my stride, and it’s such a wonderful feeling!  That moment you struggle past the “why the hell do I do this to myself?” doubts when your body gives in and resigns itself to the torture you are subjecting it to :)

I ended up putting in 7 miles, my longest distance in a very long time!  I felt wonderful when I finished, and I couldn’t wait to get home and ask Gary and the kids to guess how many miles I ran this morning.

“Eighteen hundred?” came the first wide-eyed guess. Um, sorry to disappoint!  Ha ha.  I didn’t realize how tough my mini running coaches were going to be.

No, this lady is not me!  I was searching for a picture of a woman running to accompany this blog post, and this popped up.  I LOVE HER.  :)  I totally need an outfit like that for my foray back into racing!

I hated running when I first started! I couldn’t imagine what the heck anyone saw in it. Once I got into it, though, I grew to love it. Give it a chance!

MJ, you’d look soooooo much better in that outfit than that lady!!! You could put Lindsey Wagner to shame! Awesome job on the 7 miles. I hope I soon find my inner jogger.. I think she’s in there. Maybe once I start getting the scale going the right way again!
