A 9-year-old can pick me up!

Yesterday evening, my boyfriend’s 4 kids arrived to spend the weekend with us. Everyone was hugging and laughing and playing, when his 9-year-old son hugged me really hard and playfully tried to pick me up. It’s always been a joke with us, the kids trying to pick up me or their daddy, since their dad is 6′7″ and I was always too heavy for them to even think of picking me up!

Well, last night all of us were surprised when my feet actually left the floor when the 9-year-old hugged me and lifted me up! He didn’t expect to be able to pick me up and almost dropped me in his surprise. We were laughing about it, and their daddy came in to see what was funny, so he lifted me again to show him.

It was just one of many things that couldn’t possibly have happened even a few months ago. It was funny and so exciting at the same time.

This morning all of us went for a walk together, and it was great to be outside moving, being active, playing, having fun, not wanting to sit down and take a break or go rest in the shade with a soda! I’m proud of my healthy changes will also help them, and how much more fun I can have when I can keep up!
